NEBRASKA
Album Rerelease

Music Branding, Packaging, Illustration, Photography

This album packaging commemorates the 40th anniversary of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, where Bruce famously departed from his usually upbeat rock and roll sound by releasing a haunting collection of songs. The centerpiece of the album release is the commemorative bandana, where beautiful imagery from the album is depicted on a item that represents rough, American Mid-west culture. Much like Springsteen's songwriting, the photographs on the record packaging draw interest to the mundane: a ramshackle garage door, a single piece of wheat. The weathered, rugged beauty of Nebraska is reflected throughout the packaging and mirrors the album’s ability to stand the test of time and remain relevant decades later.

The Bandana

This anniversary edition comes with a bandana decorated with lyrics and imagery from the album. The hand-lettering and carefully-rendered line illustration are an homage to the gentler, country aesthetic of this very distinctive period in Springsteen's oeuvre.
